Angular Momentum 2D Applet:

This applet depicts the quantum mechanical solutions to the two-dimensional rigid rotor problem. Click on the "L+" to increase the bond length of the diatomic molecule, and "L-" to decrease the length.

Click on "mL+" to increase the quantum number of solution, "mL-" to decrease. mL can have both positive and negative values.

Click on "m1+" or "m2+" to increase the mass of atom #1 or atom #2, respectively, and "m1-" or "m2-" to reduce the appropriate mass.

The real part of the wavefunction Ψ is colored red, and the imaginary part is in blue. The probability density for the 2-D angular momentum problem is constant everywhere.
